Utility Board

A five member advisory board dealing with utility system matters was appointed by the Hastings City Council at their meeting on May 22, 2017. The Utility Board replaces a previous Board of Public Works.

Utility board members are appointed by the mayor, with the approval of the city council. One board position per year, barring unforeseen circumstances, is up for re-appointment or re-assignment. Final approval rests with the city council. The board will advise the council on such matters as the annual budget for Hastings Utilities and also on utility rates.

The current board members are:

  • Shawn Hartman appointed on 5/22/17. His term will expire July 1, 2022.
  • Bill Hitesman appointed on 5/22/17. His term will expire July 1, 2021.
  • Jack Schreiner appointed on 5/22/17. His term will expire July 1, 2020.
  • Joanne Seberg appointed on 5/22/17. Her term will expire July 1, 2019.
  • Willis Hunt appointed on 5/22/17. His term will expire July 1, 2018.
